In light of the life-size props in production, miniature versions of the District 9 guns rank fairly low on the surprise meter in account of Weta’s history with Dr. Grordbort’s in quarter scale.
And right on prediction the Assault Rifle miniature arrives with specs not dissimilar to the Unnatural Selector, sharing the same $99 price tag.
So too is its timing, which I reckoned was a natural fit for Comic-Con if it makes that tip of the 4th quarter delivery estimate. Mini’s are nice and easy for attendees to cart around and as this will be Weta’s first con with D9, you can bet they’re aiming to make a lasting impression.
